Arthur’s Seat fire still burning on Monday evening
A fire which began on Sunday afternoon was still burning on Monday evening – and it was probably caused by people according to Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS)
SFRS Group Commander Niall MacLennan said: “While we have no indication of the cause of the fire, the majority of fires of this nature are started by human behaviour.
“Responsible human behaviour can significantly lower the chance of a fire starting.
“It’s vital to follow all safety advice when outdoors and to make sure you are familiar with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code at all times.”
Four or five appliances remained at the scene on Monday evening.

Roadworks
It is very nice to see some real-time road works which will be ready just in time for children going back to school at Preston Street Primary School just along the road from the Royal Commonwealth Pool. The work involves pavement “build-outs” or pavement widening to you and me which will hopefully make it safer for children walking to and from school.
