Mark Brooks is the men’s champion for 2024 at Craigmillar Park golf club.

Mark, son of Colin Brooks, a PGA professional operating out of Braid Hills Golf Centre and a former Scottish amateur champion and Walker Cup player, defeated Rory Deacon to add to his junior title in 2017.

The women’s championship saw Sal Shepherd continue a long running rivalry with Karen Ballantyne to take the honours.

It was Sal’s sixth club championship, the first coming in 2007, but to achieve the feat she had to end Karen’s three year stranglehold on the trophy.

In the junior ranks Sam Shannon regained the title he won in 2022 by preventing Daniel Hogg from making a successful defence.

Brian Fairgrieve successfully defended the men’s senior crown against Neil Watts while in the B events honours went to Robert King, at the expense of Kenneth Utterson, and Avril Auchterlonie who accounted for Margaret Anderson.
