A police investigation is underway after a man fell from a third-floor window of a tenement building in Lauriston Gardens at around 7:15am this morning and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police officers and ambulance teams responded to the incident after calls from neighbours.

The man has not named at this time and officers have been conducting door to door enquiries in the vicinity.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We received a report that a man had fallen from a third storey window on Lauriston Gardens, Edinburgh, around 7.15am on Tuesday, 1 June.

“The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.”
