Police cordoned off part of Bruntsfield Gardens yesterday afternoon after 64-year-old man collapsed and died in the street.

Emergency services rushed to the area after reports of a man having taken unwell however sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers do not believe that there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death but as a matter of course a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.40pm on Thursday 8 October 2020, police were called to a report of a man having taken unwell in Bruntsfield Gardens, Edinburgh. Emergency services attended and a 64 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
