The First Minister has issued figures today at Holyrood of the number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The figures as at 8 October 2020 are as follows:
Number of new cases of Covid-19 reported today – 1027 new cases which is 13.5% of those tested
Total number of cases is 35,787
Number of deaths reported today of people who have tested positive – 5 (A total of 2,538 deaths in total under that measurement.)
Number of people in Intensive Care Units in Scotland – 31 which is an increase of 3
Number of people in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19 – 377 which is an increase of 58
Public Health Scotland confirmed that the number of new cases in Lothian is 152
