Police Scotland have issued an update on the incident at Salisbury Crags yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 1.20pm after a report from a member of the public that a body had been found.

A number of police cars and ambulances attended and the body of a 58-year-old man was recovered.

At present there are thought to be no suspicious circumstances and a post mortem will take place to establish the exact cause of death.

The man has not been named at this time.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 1.20pm on Thursday, 27 August, 2020, police were called after the body of a 58-year-old man was discovered on Salisbury Crags, Queen’s Drive, Edinburgh.

“A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
