Former Hibs’ striker Florian Kamberi has thanked fans for their support during his time in Scotland at Easter Road and latterly Ibrox.

Neil Lennon signed Kamberi initially on loan from Grasshoppers then made the move permanent following a number of good performances.

Kamberi joined Rangers on loan in January with Greg Docherty moving in the opposite direction but comments made at that time regarding his ‘dream move’ made his position at Easter Road untenable amongst the fans.

He returned to pre-season training with the Hibs earlier this summer, but he was not involved in any pre-season matches.

Head coach Jack Ross confirmed he was not part of his plans for the 2020/21 campaign and he was allowed to return to his homeland.

Writing on Instagram, Kamberi said: “It’s been a quick two-and-a-half years in Scotland and now it’s time for me to move onto a new challenge in my homeland.

“Thanks to everyone at Hibs for giving me the chance to live and work in a great city, and to Rangers for the great opportunity and experience.

“A special thanks to both sets of fans for the great support. Good luck to both teams for the future.”
