A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged robbery and attempted robbery at convenience stores in Bonnington Road and McDonald Road.

Officers attended the Best One store and the Co-op on Saturday afternoon and carried out an investigation into the offences.

The suspect is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged robbery and attempted robbery at convenience stores in Bonnington Road and McDonald Road, Edinburgh, on Saturday, July 4.

“He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, July 6. 

“A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
