CTS appoints chief operating officer to drive UK and Europe growth

Digital transformation specialist Cloud Technology Solutions (CTS) has appointed Tom Ray as chief operating officer in its Edinburgh office.

He joins the company’s small team from cloud computing consultancy Cloudreach, where he worked for nine years.

With more than 20+ years’ experience in technology, Tom has a strong track record. CTS aims to build on a strong 2019, which saw the digital transformation specialist post revenues of £27.5m – a 50 per cent increase on the previous year.

Tom will work with Chief Executive Officer James Doggart to build business in the UK and European markets, where it already works with more than 400 businesses including Victoria Beckham, The Daily Telegraph and AG Barr – the soft-drinks giant behind IRN BRU, Rubicon and Tizer.

Tom said: “The tech industry has always been a high growth sector but with new innovations arriving all the time it’s becoming increasingly fast moving. It’s important that companies operating in it have the agility and ambition to capitalise on the opportunities this presents.

“CTS has a history of doing exactly that and has been able to establish itself as a leading business in the market. When the opportunity came to join the team in Edinburgh, it was an easy decision.

“I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic team to help CTS continue to grow sustainably. As part of that, I’ll be ensuring we maintain a strong focus on providing a quality service to our clients. Digital modernisation can bring so many benefits to businesses and CTS has a key role to play in helping them along that journey.

James Doggart, chief executive officer at CTS, said: “Tom has a unique depth and breadth of experience and has successfully proven that he knows how to grow a business in our industry.

“He joins us at an exciting time and will play an invaluable role as we look to bring our expertise in digital transformation to an increasing number of businesses across the UK and Europe.”
