Hibernian Women have announced the signing of Hannah Scott who joins the club after spending six years within Glasgow City’s academy, whilst also gaining caps for Scotland at youth level, making her debut against Denmark in 2018.

The 17-year old told the club website: “It feels great. I’m delighted to sign for Hibernian. They’ve been a really successful club over the last few years.

“When I got the call to come and sign for Hibernian it was just the right decision for me.

“I know Dean (Gibson) from playing against him last season and he was successful with the team last year. Myself and my team-mates had a really tough competition against Dean’s team.

“He’s a really good manager who will do well here and this is the place I want to be.”

“It was a great experience playing with and against the top players in the country which will do well for me signing here as well.

“I’m a technical player and I think I’ll bring good attributes to the team. I think I’ll be able to compete to get into the team, getting as many minutes as I can.”

Gibson said “Hannah is a player with massive potential, a view which is shared with the national squads as she has recently started going away with the Under-19s.

“I have admired Hannah as a player for some time now and last season came up against her while she was part of Glasgow City’s Under-23s.

“This is a signing which tells you the way Hibernian operate, giving young talented players a platform to go and show their talents at the top of women’s football in Scotland.

“We are excited to share the next stage in her journey and are fully confident we can help her reach her potential.”
