Marie said: “I was absolutely delighted to be asked to speak at the Business Gateway Edinburgh’s International Women’s Day event and hope that my story and learnings will encourage others to believe that with a little bit of hard work, common sense and determination, anything is possible!

There was a panel discussion with three business owners, Stephanie Foulds, founder of The Eco Larder, Nina Falk founder of Kalopsia Collective and Suzie Millar founder of Scottish Bee Company all talking about building a sustainable business and the circular economy.

“Today we heard from inspiring and successful women in business and social enterprise in the capital.

“We must continue to celebrate ambition in women and demonstrate the positive change that ambitious women can make – and events like today do just that.”

At the inaugural event last year First Minister Nicola Sturgeon launched the Women in Business Growth Programme which 36 entrepreneurs from all business sectors have now completed. Applications are now open for the next course designed to support women grow their business and develop skills such as pitching for investment and leadership strategy which begins on 22 August 2020.
