Hibs’ Scottish Cup winning captain David Gray will be out of action for a period of around 12 weeks.

The full-back sustained knee ligament damage during last Saturday’s Ladbrokes Premiership head to head with St Johnstone, after an innocuous collision with Saints’ Scott Tanser.

It’s a fresh injury, unrelated to any previous knocks.

The club look forward to seeing the influential defender return to the fold when he’s completed his rehabilitation programme.

Scotland international Steven Whittaker is likely to deputise in his absence.
