The Greyfriars Charteris Centre is crowdfunding for the redevelopment of their centre. They offer a place for community groups of all kinds through two main strands Wellbeing and Enterprise.

But now they have decided to renovate some parts of the centre to make it work better now and in the future. They estimate that the works will cost about £2million and they almost have enough funding, but they need a final push.

If you support their crowdfunder you could be on their Wall of Fame. They already have planning permission to begin the work in September including full access with a lift to all four levels, improving the main entrance and improving the toilet and other facilities.

The centre has adopted a curated approach to include all their community groups which use the space in the Charteris Community. They have sought out groups which will give more benefit to local people, and they aim to become self-sustaining as a result of gettinng more groups involved.

The Charteris Centre builds on the work of the Very Reverend Archibald H Charteris supporting local people from the building since 1895.
