Celebrate summer solstice by dancing to Snoop Dogg mash-up at Mash House ceilidh
Scotland’s leading rock/ceilidh band Bahookie will bring their unique blend of traditional music and Top 40 hits to Edinburgh on 21 June 2019, allowing you to celebrate the arrival of summer with traditional Scottish dancing to some of the best-loved music acts of the 80s, 90s and noughties.
The band, best-known for mixing hits such as The Prodigy’s Breathe into their tracks and for their pre-match performance at the recent Scotland-Wales Six Nations match at Murrayfield, will entertain party-goers at the capital’s intimate city centre venue The Mash House.
Partying at The Mash House on the longest day of the year promises to be popular among those keen to sample the rarefied experience of Virginia Reeling to Swedish House Mafia, barn-dancing to the beats of Rag and Bone man, and doing Strip the Willow to Bastille and Faithless.
Bahookie co-founder Neil Thompson, vocalist and guitarist, said: “We are buzzing to return to Edinburgh for what should be a brilliant night at The Mash House. We play all over the world, but performing on home soil in the capital city guarantees a great night with an enthusiastic crowd who are always up for a brilliant time.

With their one-off brand of ceilidh-rock music, Bahookie have blazed a trail all over the world, performing in Norway, Bangkok, Islamabad, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Jakarta and Dubai. Comprised of players from the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Bahookie have many years of gigging experience behind them. With the core members of Scott Arnott (drums/vocals), and Neil Thompson (vocals, piano and guitar) having known each other for years, you certainly see and hear the spirit and unity between them.
