The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has announced the list of finalists for the FSB Scotland Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019.

Edinburgh-based small businesses Gain Brands International UK Ltd, Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd, Kalopsia Collective, Kilted Lobster Restaurant, Rachel Scott Couture, SnapDragon and The Eco Larder are all featured among the finalists.

The awards will be held on 21 February 2019 at the Playfair Library when over 200 businesses will gather to celebrate small businesses, self-employed workers and the huge contribution they make to the Scottish economy.

The finalists for the FSB Scotland Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019 from Edinburgh are:

Gain Brands International UK Ltd – International Business of the Year

Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd – Scale-Up Business of the Year

Kalopsia Collective – Ethical–Green Business of the Year

Kilted Lobster Restaurant – Community Award

Rachel Scott Couture – Micro Business of the Year

SnapDragon – Employer of the Year

The Eco Larder – Ethical-Green Business of the Year


Garry Clark, FSB’s Development Manager for Edinburgh, said: “The finalists have been shortlisted because they are some of the Scotland’s most exciting small businesses and self-employed workers. It is fantastic to see that Edinburgh firms are among those who will compete to be the best in Scotland.

“This list of finalists from Edinburgh reflects the strong performance of the city’s small business community, as well as its rich and diverse landscape. 

“I wish them all the best of luck in the finals next month and look forward to celebrating the huge contribution all our small businesses play across the length and breadth of Scotland.”
