Scotland are preparing for next year’s UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship with a home tournament against some of the strongest nations in Europe.

Hibs’ players Lauren Davidson, Kirsty Morrison and Jamie Lee Napier have been named in the squad along with Michaela McAlonie and Elena Santoyo-Brown from Spartans.

Spain, European champions at under-19 level in 2018, will join France and Denmark in travelling to Scotland for the event, which kicks off on Wednesday, 3 October.

The tournament will act as vital preparation for Pauline Hamill’s side as they look towards next year’s UEFA European Championships – a tournament for which they qualify automatically as the host nation.

The last time Scotland were at the Euros was in 2017 where they exited at the group stages.

Pauline Hamill’s side go into the game on the back of 3-0 and 3-2 defeats against Belgium a month ago.
