Causewayside was closed to traffic for a period yesterday following a fire in a shop.

Emergency services were called to the Foam Shop on Causewayside at 8.15am.

No-one was injured and there were no reports of any evacuations.

Police officers closed  the road while more than 15 firefighters dealt with the blaze.

The fire is believed to have started in a fuse box.

The road has now reopened.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We had four appliances at the scene.

“There is no note of any evacuations.”
