Edinburgh-based Andrew Brogdon has been appointed as Scotland boys’ under-18 head coach.

Brogdon has been coaching for over ten years at various levels and up until recently he was an assistant coach at Division One side Grange

The English-born playcaller is the head of hockey at Stewart’s Melville College who are currently the under-15 and under-18 National School Champions and he was formerly an assistant to Graham Dunlop for two years in the under-18 programme.

Brogdon comes come from a hockey playing family and one of his younger brothers, Alastair, has over 100 caps for England and played in the Olympics in Rio.

He played for Bowdon but spent the vast majority of his career with Cannock, winning a number of national titles and competing in two European Cup finals.

Brogdon said: “I am proud to be given the opportunity to develop what is an exciting and ambitious group of young players and I look forward to playing a small part in helping them realise their obvious potential.”
