Hibs Development team missed the chance to close the gap on Ross County at the top of the SPFL Development League, losing 3-0 to Hamilton Accies at Oriam yesterday.

Grant Murray fielded an experienced team including first team squad players Scott Gallacher, Danny Handling Scott Martin and Brian Graham.

After the game a disappointed Murray told the club website:  “I must admit, that’s as poor as we’ve been for a long, long time. We were second to everything. Obviously when you go a goal behind, and the opponents are pressing you, it becomes difficult and we never really got to grips with our game plan. When you get one or two players not playing well, the rest can carry you through, but I didn’t think we had anyone at the top of their game at all today.”

“Individually, getting back on track next week away to Kilmarnock is huge for the boys. We try to drum that into them, how important consistency is. They have to understand that when you get to the next level, in the first team, you have to perform well week in, week out, somebody else will take your jersey. It’s a difficult place to be, as a footballer if you’re not playing well, but it’s up to you to pick yourself up and move on.”
