Edinburgh Capitals must arrest a disappointing run of three straight defeats when they visit fellow-strugglers Dundee Stars on Wednesday (face-off 7.30pm).

Michal Dobron’s men anchor the ten-strong Elite League with 27 points from 39 Elite League fixtures and time is running out to qualify for the high-profile, end-of-season play-offs.

Dundee are ninth with 31 points from 40 games but they come into the clash on the back of a confidence-boosting home win over seventh-placed Manchester Storm on Sunday.

Both teams are bidding to catch Coventry Blaze who occupy the eighth and final qualifying spot. The Midlands club have 33 points from 42 games but Danny Stewart’s men are in a poor run of form with three straight defeats.

Marc Lefebvre, Dundee’s coach, and a former Edinburgh player, said: “Edinburgh are dangerous, but our job is to worry about ourselves,.”
