HIBS MANAGER NEIL LENNON with DARREN MCGREGOR

Tesco in Leith have teamed up with Hibs to ensure that everyone gets a Christmas lunch this year. The club are laying on a specially organised event feeding up to 250 people at Easter Road on Christmas Day and now Tesco has promised to provide the food.

Fraser Cromar, Tesco Leith Store Manager, today delivered vouchers which will pay for the food, to Hibernian Manager Neil Lennon.

He said: “Many people are facing the prospect of Christmas alone so events like this are absolutely wonderful for bringing them together in a safe and warm environment.

“Hibernian is our local club and the ground is less than a mile from the store. So when the opportunity came-up to support we were only too happy to help.”

As well as delivering food for the lunch, the Leith store will also supply 250 bags for guests including hats, scarves, gloves and other goodies.

The club’s Community Foundation are organising the event as part of the GameChanger Partnership with the Club and NHS Lothian.

The food is being paid for using £2,000 worth of store vouchers.
