The St James Centre or St James Shopping as it was known latterly has now closed. It will be demolished soon and replaced over the next four years by a modern £850million development expected to be ready in 2020.
We thought you might like some mementoes of what has been an iconic, although sometimes unloved building since it was completed in the 1970s.
Be aware that this means there is no parking at the St James Centre now and the nearest car park is at Greenside.
