Police are appealing for information in order to trace a 37-year-old man who is missing from the Edinburgh area.

Stuart Hamilton, who lives in the Gorgie area of Edinburgh, has not been seen in the last two weeks and officers are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

He is believed to have been in Edinburgh over the weekend, before travelling to Manchester on Sunday morning (September 25) by train.Ā  Officers believe he may still be in the Greater Manchester area.

Stuart is described as a white man with a medium build.Ā  He is around 6ft 2ā€ in height with short, dark, receding hair. He was last seen wearing a blue top along with a black hooded top, blue jeans and white trainers.Ā  He was also carrying a dark rucksack.

Inspector Jonathan Elliot of Drylaw Police Station said:Ā  ā€œStuart has not been seen for two weeks and we are eager to trace him as soon as possible.

ā€œAnyone who has seen Stuart in the Edinburgh area in the last few weeks, or recognises his description, is asked to get in touch with us immediately.

ā€œIf would also ask anyone who is aware of Stuartā€™s whereabouts in the Greater Manchester area to contact Police Scotland at their first opportunity.ā€
