[tweet_box design=”default”]Jean-Paul Rappeneau has directed a witty, urbane comedy with just slight Whitehall Farce overtones.[/tweet_box]

Mathieu Amalric plays a French businessman based in Shanghai, dropping in on his mother in Paris to introduce his beautiful fiancee (Gemma Chan) en route to an important business appointment in London. He becomes involved in trying to settle the sale of the family estate in Ambray, meets his father’s second family and mayhem ensues.

This comedy of manners shows some pretty scenery in France and briefly in London and Shanghai and makes for pleasant and satisfying viewing.
