The Waverley Mall on Princes Street has had a £4 million refurbishment and held a grand opening party today with the Lord Provost the Rt Hon Donald Wilson on hand to cut the tape.

X Factor start Che Chesterman was there to sing for shoppers along with Britain’s Got Talent’s Lisa Sampson.

Waverley Mall is now set to be the retail and food destination right in the heart of the city, and who knows may well reap the benefits of the redevelopment at St James Centre which will start in about 6 weeks. There the £850 million development will mean the demolition of all buildings except for John Lewis.

There are new shops such as Zumo, Chopstix, Pizza Mafia, Sainsbury’s and of course the Post Office.
