Hibs have signed Sean Mackie from Raith Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The East Lothian teenager had also attracted interest from Hearts but elected to further his career under Joe McBride at East Mains, signing a four and a half year deal.

Mackie, 17, is a highly-rated left-back and is delighted to join the Club, and is looking forward to furthering his development at Easter Road.

He told the club website: “Hibernian have a good reputation for bringing through young players, and it is a good environment for me to continue my development as a footballer.

“When an opportunity like this comes along it is wise to take it. I will be thankful to the Fife Elite Academy and Raith Rovers for the way they have treated me, but when I join Hibernian, I will be solely focused on trying my best to continue my development as a professional footballer.”
