Hibernian Ladies drew 3-3 with  Glasgow City in Airdrie yesterday leaving both clubs locked on 38 points at the  top of the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

Three goals from Abigail Harrison secured the valuable point and afterwards Hibs’ manager Chris Roberts told the club website: “I’m very proud of all of my players.  The fight from our team was incredible and I thought the least we deserved was a point.

“To score a last minute equaliser makes the result feel like a win for our girls whilst I imagine City’s are a little deflated.

“I always felt we could get back into the game because we’ve real quality and terrific speed in our side so I knew we were capable of scoring.

“City were trying to waste time but we kept going, won possession and got the goal we deserved. It was a huge team effort.

“Preparation has been tough with a number of injuries and illness to contend with, but it was a professional and mature performance from the girls.

“For those that have not seen women’s football at the top level this game would’ve been a real eye-opener because we have a fantastic product with top-quality players and they deserve a platform for their talents.

“I was asked earlier if our match with City in October is now a potential title decider but I think that is very disrespectful to the other top six sides.

“They’re all capable and will fancy their chances of beating both clubs so no one should dismiss them.”
