Finn Russell, Scotland’s fly-half, has been cited by an independent Citing Commissioner for a dangerous tackle – for which the player was yellow-carded – in the 30th minute of the RBS 6 Nations match between Scotland and Wales on Sunday.EdinReport-SvW-FR-1

The player’s hearing, before an independent Six Nations Disciplinary Committee of three, will be held later this week.

Law 10.4(e)
Dangerous tackling.
A player must not tackle an opponent whose feet are off the ground.

Law 10.4(j)
Lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player into the ground whilst
that player’s feet are still off the ground such that the player’s head and/or upper body come
into contact with the ground is dangerous play.
