Instagram Birthday celebrated in Edinburgh

Yesterday was the birthday of Instagram and instagrammers all over the world gathered together for their 10th world wide instameet. Edinburgh was no exception to that.

Instagram enthusiasts met at Edinburgh Castle to have a tour of it and all the photos can be found if searched for the tag #castlemeetwwim10 .

After the #castlemeetwwim10 I decided to go back to historical descriptions of my photos. So I’ll begin with a castle itself. It was first used as a royal castle since the reign of David I in the 12th century and it continued to be a royal residence till the Union of Crowns in 1603. Since then its role of a royal castle declined and by 17th century it was used more as military barracks. Edinbugh Castle also has the oldest building in Edinburgh which is St Margaret’s Chapel but another photo will have history of that. // После #castlemeetwwim10 я решил вернуться к историческим описаниям моих фотографий.
