Hibs’ midfielder Danny Handling has been hit with a two match ban after his sending of at Ibrox on Tuesday however he will be available for the first Edinburgh derby of the season at Tynecastle on August 17th.

Handling will miss the opening game of the Championship at home to Livingston on Saturday, bit the second half of the ban will only take effect when or rather if he next plays in the Petrofac Training Cup.

Handling was shown the red card by referee John Beaton for a 79th-minute tackle on former Hearts winger David Templeton, a decision described as ‘harsh’ by Head Coach Alan Stubbs.

Earlier the 20 year old had grabbed an equaliser but with Hibs looking the more likely team to win, he mistimed a tackle leaving his team mates with an uphill battle and they eventually lost 2-1 after extra time.

The Easter Road club have revealed that they will not be appealing the decision.
