Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses in connection with a serious assault that took place in the Leith area of the Capital.

The incident happened in Leith Street, just after midnight on Saturday 9th November.  The 29-year-old victim suffered serious injuries when he was assaulted by two men in an unprovoked attack.

The first suspect is described as, white, in his 20s, 5ft 9ins, medium build, light brown short hair, grey hooded top and possibly grey bottoms.  The other suspect was wearing a black jacket.

Following the incident the victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious head injury.

Constable Colin Talbott, from Police Scotland, said: “The victim has suffered serious head injury in this unprovoked attack, and we are keen for any information that can help us trace the two suspects.

“Anyone who witnessed the assault, or who recognises the description of the suspects, should contact police immediately.

“Anyone else with any information that can assist our inquiries should also get in touch.”
