Edinburgh entrepreneurial ventures to create souper union

Social enterprise Elephant Juice Food Company has sold their soup van, Dumbo, to award winning soup producers Union of Genius.

Dumbo, an original Citroen H van, will create a new street trading arm alongside the Union of Genius soup cafe on Forrest Road.

Union of Genius will continue trading at Elephant Juice Food Company’s pitch in George Square. There will be four soups on offer each day from both Elephant Juice’s repertoire and the Union of Genius recipe collection.

Dumbo will return to his old stomping ground on Tuesday, October 29th.

JP Campbell, Elephant Juice’s founder, is now setting up the One Feeds Two Foundation with Mark Christopher, founder of the West Cornwall Pasty Company.

Having piloted the ONE FEEDS TWO concept with Elephant Juice, the concept will now be scaled up. Other companies will be encouraged to adopt the ethical approach, so every time you see the ONE FEEDS TWO logo you know that purchasing that product will result in a hungry child being fed in a place of education.

Union of Genius will support ONE FEEDS TWO through a donations box and as well as continuing their own provision of soup to the homeless via the Edinburgh Care Van for which they have already provided over 800 litres of free soup.
