Police ScotlandPolice have today issued a warning about a card skimming device in Chesser Avenue, but this is the second instance in as many weeks. On Friday 2 August a similar kind of device was found on ATM machines in Elder Street near the bus station.

Police in Edinburgh are now appealing for witnesses following the discovery of two card-skimming devices at an ATM on Chesser Road. Earlier today a member of public reported to Police a suspicious device on the ATM at the Royal Bank of Scotland, 1 Chesser Avenue, Edinburgh.

A device was previously found by a member of public on this cash machine on 22nd July.

PC Grant Robertson from Police Scotland said: “If anyone has seen any suspicious activity around this cashpoint on Chesser Avenue over the last couple of weeks, they should contact Police Scotland on 101. I’d like to also advise the public to remain vigilant when using ATMs and to report anything unusual.”

If anyone has noted any suspicious activity around this cashpoint, they should contact Police Scotland on 101 or report it anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
