Aisling Bea: C’est La Bea, Gilded Balloon Teviot, until 26 Aug (except 13), £10.50/9.50 (£9.50/£8.50 concessions)

Aisling Bea’s energetic and fluid performance in her first solo Fringe show is electric. From the starting set up to the closing sequence, this is the work of someone who has put a lot of thought and effort into presenting herself and her material in a memorable 60 minutes that seemed to fly by.

Vibrant and engaging, Bea held the audience’s attention while describing elements of her upbringing in a fast-paced manner, with little segments within her storytelling such as “It was like a stroke, but not of luck…” causing continuous laughter among the full venue.

She did a fantastic job at conveying her personality and showing off her key ‘talents’:- Hula hoops, a miniature keyboard and an unusual ending involving a tin-whistle make for a laugh-out-loud show that proves why she was the winner of last year’s coveted ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ award.

We foretell good things for Bea.
