TAOSIRagweed: The Art of Self Improvement, Space Cabaret, 19 to 24 August 9:30pm, £5 (£3 concessions)
In the Last Week of Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2013, Ragweed, the scuzzy surf rock trio from Brighton will be bringing their original show to Space Cabaret.
The audience will be blind-folded and taken on an audio journey comprised of Ragweed’s dirty, alternative live rock music with an original macabre narrative. The story takes you inside the mind of a convict as he is released from his long stretch behind bars. Ragweed will guide the audience through the mental insights of a man adapting to life on the outside, trying to let go of old habits, desperate to leave crime behind and embark on the straight and narrow through mastering ‘The Art of Self Improvement’.
The narrative will provide the inner thoughts of the ex-con as he struggles to take control of his impulses now granted his freedom, with the live music serving to emphasize key elements of the plot and decisions made by this character. Covering topics such as mental health disorders and substance dependency through their live music, Ragweed bring the listener a unique live punk rock experience debuting at this year’s Fringe.
As a band, Ragweed put out 2 EPs in 2012 and toured throughout the year. Their music has received many positive reviews and reactions from crowds all over the country.
