Edinburgh College opens its doors for the Great Big Art Show
Edinburgh College will soon open its doors to the public to showcase the creative talents of its students at The Great Big Art Show 7-13 June 2013.
Now in its fourth year running, The Great Big Art Show will unveil the work from a variety of students from creative courses, including Contemporary Art, Photography, Textiles and Theatre Costume.
Neil Manning, Programme Area Leader for Art and Design at Edinburgh College, said:- “The Great Big Art Show is a fantastic platform for our students to showcase all that they have learned during their time at College and share their achievements with their friends, family, the public and most importantly, potential employers.
“We are delighted to build on the past success of previous art shows and I’m sure this year’s show will help to further establish the College’s reputation as a major creative powerhouse for nurturing Scotland’s future artists and designers.”
Neil added: -“At this year’s Great Big Art Show, guests can expect to see displays bursting with talent from a variety of our artistic students, from Access level to BTEC Foundation Diploma and HN level.”
“I’m sure the exhibition will also be of interest to those interested in starting a career in the creative industries, as they can gain an insight into the breadth of courses available and talk to current students first-hand about their experiences.
“This year’s students will move on to degree programmes across the UK and onto HN and specialist subjects. Their progression routes will show people interested in the creative industries just what they can achieve with a qualification at the College.”
The Great Big Art Show will be on display at Edinburgh College’s Granton Campus from 9am – 4pm on Friday 7 June, from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 8 June and from 9am -4pm from Monday 10 to Wednesday 12 June 2013. The exhibition will be open until 8pm on the last day, Thursday 13 June 2013.
