COMMUNITY CAFE JOB: Midlothian Travelling Café Development Worker

Hours: Fixed Term (18 Weeks), 10 Hours per Week
Salary: Health in Mind Pt. 27: £11.85 per hour
Base: Bonnyrigg

This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead role in the feasibility/pilot phase of the Midlothian Travelling Coffee pot social enterprise initiative. This post is specifically for the purpose of piloting this project so as to determine what may sustainably work in the future and form the basis of future funding applications.

The plan is for a Midlothian travelling café that will set up in various community premises and be run by volunteers with experience of mental health problems. The café will support volunteers to develop skills and confidence, as well as benefiting the wider Midlothian community by setting up in areas that are isolated and/or lacking facilities.

The café aims to provide healthy affordable food with a view in the longer term to expanding to provide workshops and demonstrations on food preparation, budgeting, nutrition, wellbeing, mood and food.

The project will be managed by Health in Mind
