Mum’s The Word When It Comes To Cupcakes 

 

Cuckoo’s the luxury cupcake shop is helping Edinburgh mums get the sweet treat they deserve this Mother’s Day with the launch of its latest cupcake range.

 

Cuckoo’s Bakery, at 150 Dundas Street, has created six bespoke cupcakes all designed to show your mum how much you care, making them the perfect gift for mums with a sweet tooth or those looking for something a little different to the usual box of chocolates or bunch of flowers.

 

Sons and daughters can choose from; Apple and Blackberry Crumble, Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake, Coconut and Cherry, Chocolate Indulgence, Strawberry Fizz and Sticky Banoffee Pudding.

 

Vidya Sarjoo, co-owner and cupcake innovator at Cuckoo’s Bakery said: “Cupcakes are a great way of showing your mum just how much you care about them and the great thing is that they are perfect for mums of any age.

 

“The traditional box of chocolate and bunch of flowers can be a wee bit predictable and I think our cupcakes would make a welcome surprise for any mum on Sunday – I know my mum would prefer a cupcake.

 

“The range we have created is fun and indulgent. Mother’s Day is all about mums relaxing and taking some me time, putting their feet up and what better way to do this than with a cup of tea and tasty cupcake?”

 

Cuckoo’s Bakery’s range of Mother’s Day cupcakes; include a Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake perfect for cheesecake connoisseurs. The light vanilla sponge cake with a berry compote centre is decorated with an “I LOVE YOU MUM” biscuit.

 

The Apple and Blackberry Crumble is a healthy twist on the Mother’s Day cupcake menu. The traditional apple sponge, baked with gluten-free flour, is filled with blackberry jam and the cupcake is crowned with a fresh blackberry and a sugar flower.

 

Surprise your mum with our Coconut and Cherry cupcake, deliciously coconut sponge filled with cherry jam and topped with a coconut frosted buttercream and a decadent cherry.

 

For those who love chocolate, the Chocolate Indulgence with a melt in the mouth white chocolate centre and chocolate buttercream, is topped with a edible white chocolate ‘MUM’  

 

The Strawberry Fizz cupcake is fruity and light – a classic vanilla sponge with strawberry and prosecco jam filling complete with strawberry buttercream.

 

And finally, there’s Sticky Banoffee Pudding with sumptuous butterscotch filling topped with a splash of caramel and an edible ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ message.

 

Cuckoo’s Bakery Mother’s Day cupcakes are available from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th March and are priced at £2.70 each with gift boxes available from £18.50. Delivery is available for orders of a minimum of six cupcakes within the Edinburgh city bypass.
