Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was stolen from Chambers Street on Thursday afternoon.

Keys to the ’06 grey Citreon Xsara Picasso were removed from a woman’s handbag in the National Museum of Scotland around 12.40pm, and the car was found to have been stolen from Chambers Street shortly afterwards.

The suspect thought to have stolen the keys is described as being male, white with a black hooded top.

Constable Gemma Crolla said: “We are working to trace the vehicle, and would appeal for anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously – either in the museum or in Chamber Street – to get in touch.
