A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault that happened at a garage in Portobello High Street on Friday, February 17.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday (March 26).
A 47-year-old man was arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act after Lothian and Borders Police recovered a large quantity of Class A and B drugs from a property in Edinburgh earlier this week.
Officers carried out an intelligence-led search at an address in Meadowbank and seized over 400g of Herbal Cannabis along with several ounces of Cocaine with a combined value of around £50,000.
Around £7200 in cash was also recovered during the search.
A police spokesman said: “These drugs, which were intended for distribution within our communities are now in police possession thanks to the vital information we received from the public.
“We will continue to engage with local communities to identify drug-related criminal activity and bring those responsible to justice.
“Anyone who wishes to report a crime of this nature should contact their local policing team, or alternatively, via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 in complete anonymity.”
The man was scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.
