The Royal Pew in the Canongate Kirk was in use at the weekend when The Queen’s granddaughter was married. There was not much time for photographs when the bride arrived and left at the church on The Royal Mile but do send us any snaps you may have taken! The Scotsman reports that the bridegroom was still in his morning suit when he took his leave from The Palace of Holyroodhouse yesterday morning!

The tram project has suffered another blow this weekend. The Edinburgh Evening News has reported that Steven Bell has accepted a redundancy package from tie. Bell has led the project from the beginning. Meanwhile The Herald reports that tie has spent £38million in the last two months even though there is no funding in place for completion of the project.

According to Kenny MacAskill MSP four local groups within Edinburgh Eastern have been successful in applying for a grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All.
The Community Foundation for Planetary Healing, Portobello Sailing and Kayaking Club, South Edinburgh Cluster Youth Group and Abbeyhill Tenants Organisation collectively secured a total of £27,135.

Two of our Edinburgh MSPs have landed key roles as ministerial aides according to The Scotsman. Both Jim Eadie and Marco Biagi have been appointed as parliamentary liaison officers.

And Scotland on Sunday reports that the iconic building on The Mound that was once the Bank of Scotland HQ is now welcoming customers again. High net worth individuals are apparently being invited there for cosy chats with their relationship managers.
