This evening the Royal Academy of Engineering, in a joint event with Edinburgh Beltane, will host a free talk about sustainable infrastructure at The Royal Society of Edinburgh at 18.00.

The collapse of the World Trade Center created a storm of blame and finger-pointing in the structural engineering world, and raised many questions about best practice for future construction and structural engineering. Following from controversy, conspiracy and questions, ten years of analysis and research by experts has yielded promising results.

Professor Jose Torero FRSE, FREng , BRE Trust/RAE Professor of Fire Safety Engineering, University of Edinburgh will extract from a decade of questions, ten lessons on what is sustainable infrastructure.
