Link Housing Association presented the Edinburgh-based charity, Alzheimer Scotland, a cheque for £5840.56 on 19 January 2011 at Albany Court, Denny.

The money was raised as part of Link’s LinkGiving initiative last year where employees and tenants of the sheltered housing complexes held fund raising activities such as tombolas, raffles, bring and buy stalls and coffee mornings.

Amy McKay, Link Housing Sheltered Housing Manager, said: “Our team and the people who live in all 12 of Link’s sheltered housing complexes once again raised a fantastic amount of money. Thank you to those who donated goods and prizes with a special thanks to Diane Goldberg who played a massive part in the day by obtaining raffle prizes.”

Alzheimer Scotland is the leading dementia organisation in Scotland. It campaigns for the rights of people with dementia and their families and provides an extensive range of innovative and personalised support services.

Kevin McKay, Forth Valley Dementia Advisor from Alzheimer Scotland said: “To receive a cheque for such a large sum is a fantastic boost for Alzheimer Scotland.  This will allow us to maintain some of our core services for people with dementia and their family and friends within their own communities. It is greatly appreciated and we look forward to a long relationship with Link”.
