Although the FP side won 17-7 over Kelso they have rather harshly posted a “Could do Better’ report on themselves for their outing to the Borders yesterday.

“A dogged and focussed performance against a hefty Kelso side – we were never in danger of losing, and, but for some poor handling, could have won by a much larger margin.”

However they admit to some intermittent flashes of decent rugby, with some very patient ball retention and some nice patterns being run.

In the pack, Brewster beasted about nicely, George shone in the loose once again and Sam did some great tidying up when the ball when to ground.

The backs did a good job at shutting down the experienced Kelso centre pairing of Utterson and Hartley, with Struan putting in the hits and Liam clearing our lines well.

But, on a day when we wanted to speed the game up to open gaps out wide, Rob Primrose gets the Leading Lion award – he made some great breaks and ran the game well.

Stew Mel scored 2 tries, 2 conversions and a penalty.
