The Easter Camps at George Watson’s College (GWC) were declared a great success by the children who attended and by the school – and GWC is set to do it all over again this summer.
Each holiday camp has a focus including Art (there is an intriguing one called Mythical Creatures and Hidden Worlds), Music, Drama, Stage and Screen, Dance, Book Binding and Multisports. There are also Higher Ready Study sessions for any students who might benefit from a bit of extra tuition which run from 3 to 6 and 10 to 13 August. Each camp is intended for a specific age group, and all the details are on the school’s website.
The camp leaders are experienced at making sure each young person who attends fits right in. The school has an ethos of community and inclusion and this extends to the holiday activities which are run in the school and the school grounds.
The promise is that the activities on offer will turn into shared experiences where new friends are made and new interests might turn into lifelong hobbies. The summer break is long enough to spend a few days or a week at GWC learning new skills while making memories.
