Scottish Orienteering are hosting an adults beginners’ course on the Cammo Estate from 10-4pm on Saturday 28 March.
This follows a similar venture last August for the first time since the Covid pandemic.
The course will be led by a local, very experienced and knowledgeable coach from Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club.
The day-long course will begin with the basic skills and knowledge needed for orienteering, and then progress throughout the day onto more challenging techniques so that by the end participants should be confident in completing an intermediate level course independently.
Basic tenets include:
*Understanding an orienteering map.
*Using a compass.
*Techniques on how to navigate a course with a map. For further information contact [email protected] or contact any of these local clubs
