Livingston’s interim head coach, David Martindale, was unhappy that his men conceded two goals at home in the 2-1 defeat by ten-man Ayr United, despite having almost constant second-half pressure.

They have a chance to redeem themselves when Partick Thistle check in at The Home of the Set Fare on Saturday (15.00).

It won’t be easy as The Jags had a 3-0 win over Arbroath last weekend at Firhill and they are in third spot in the ten-strong William Hill Championship table with 15 points from their eight fixtures. Livingston are fourth with 13 points but from nine games.

Partick have scored eight goals and let in two while Livingston are joint top scorers in the division with 13 but they have conceded nine.

Both clubs are chasing pace-setting Stenhousemuir who have 22 points from their eight starts, five points ahead of Raith Rovers who have played a game more.
