Leith Rugby club will start the season at home to Edinburgh Northern in East Division Two on Saturday with one clear objective according to coach Alex McCutcheon.
Alex says: Our main ambition is to be a team that is respected!”
The coach qualifies his objectives, adding: “We want to still be in the contest at sixty minutes as well as claiming two wins over top-half sides.
“Also, no game should be allowed to get away from us.
“We are also committed to our 2nd XV fixtures behind the 1st XV and a43 excited once again to have a womens team 2ho will be kicking off their season with new coaching and lots of new faces.
“Off the pitch, the club’s priority is bridging the 15-to-18 age gap (when many players drop out of the game),
Men’s captain is Scott McAteer, an openside flanker, while 12 new players have been welcomed into the Leith squad.
One of these is Zachary Knight who takes on the defensive captaincy. As an Outside Centre he is said to bring intensity in attack and aggression in defence.
