Police have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man in connection with a serious assault and an assault that took place on South Bridge, Edinburgh on Saturday, 1 August, 2026.
Around 2.10am, a 42-year-old man was seriously assaulted and taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
Another man was assaulted on the same street and enquiries are continuing to trace the victim of that assault.
The 33-year-old man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
