An Edinburgh engineering consultancy has secured a place on the shortlist for one of the UK construction industry’s top awards.
Harley Haddow has been named a finalist in the Engineering Consultant of the Year category at the 2026 Building Awards, with winners due to be announced in London on 3 November.
The recognition follows a period of growth for the consultancy, which marked its 75th anniversary in 2025.
Marc McLuskey, director of Harley Haddow’s Edinburgh office, said the nomination reflected the progress the company had made over the past year.
He said: “The last 12 months have been a year of measurable impact, strategic growth and industry-leading innovation and we’re very pleased to have been recognised by Building.
“With a commitment to reposition ourselves as a long-term trusted advisor, we’ve increased capacity, capability and coverage across the business through strengthened leadership, a new Bristol office and launching a number of new services.”

The firm has also expanded its workforce by 15 per cent and increased its focus on net zero and decarbonisation projects.
A panel of 31 judges reviewed entries across 19 categories before selecting this year’s finalists.
Chloe McCulloch, editorial director of Building and chair of the judging panel, said the quality of entries reflected the industry’s resilience and continued innovation.
She said: “The standard of entries was exceptionally high, reflecting an industry that continues to innovate, collaborate and raise the bar.
“Congratulations to all of our finalists and we look forward to recognising their achievements at this year’s Building Awards.”
